What this site is
FutureShift Australia is an independent editorial project. We write long-form guides about what it actually takes to start and run rideshare driving in Australia: the licensing, the approvals, the tax registrations, the vehicles, the city-by-city realities and the first months on the road.
We are not a platform, a broker, a driving school or a regulator. We do not process signups ourselves.
Who it is for
Anyone weighing up whether to drive, anyone partway through the signup process, and anyone already driving who wants a clearer, dated reference they can re-check when something changes.
What we stand for
- Plain English. No jargon walls, no hype, no fake urgency.
- Sourced and dated. Every guide lists its sources and the date we checked them.
- Honest about uncertainty. Where a rule varies by state or a promotion cannot be verified, we say so instead of inventing detail.
- Independence. No platform pays us to write this, and no platform reviews it before it is published.
How we are funded
Some outbound links are referral links. If you decide to sign up through one, we may receive a benefit at no extra cost to you. That never changes the advice, the facts we report or the warnings we give. See our referral disclosure and editorial policy.
